The Silver Cross
The Silver Cross is awarded to members of the department who are seriously wounded or killed in the line of duty during a hostile or life-threatening encounter. The award features a silver Sheriff’s star at the center of a silver cross, suspended from a purple and white ribbon. It is accompanied by a ribbon bar and a framed certificate that honors the recipient’s bravery.
